Today the LA Marathon went right by my place, so I went out this morning to admire and envy all the runners, knowing that if I ever tried to run a marathon, I'd be like Simon Pegg's character from 'Run Fatboy Run' but without the injury. I was surprised to see how many people were there on the sidelines just to encourage the runners, clapping and cheering them on by name (their names were on their numbers). It was nice to know that people cared and were supportive of each other. I wish I had a crew of people to follow me around, cheering me on, because lots of times unemployment feels like a marathon and I'm only on Mile 2...
